Emblematic of La Rochère, the Bee or Abeille collection is steeped in history, while displaying its more contemporary character than ever. And timeless. It was on the occasion of Napoleon’s coronation ceremony that the arms, crests, and heraldic figures of the New Empire were officially chosen.
The Bee then made its appearance in a very discreet way, by the sole wish of the emperor. For no particular reason, he used them everywhere.They were found on court cloaks, leather and upholstery, carpets, and flags. A travel kit in blue morocco, gilded with small irons on a background of a bee pattern, which had belonged to the emperor and kept at the Carnavalet museum, was thus the source of inspiration for this collection.
